What Is A Storm Drain?

Storm Drain

Have you ever seen holes or openings at the curb or in the street? Sometimes they have grates over them? These are called storm drains and they are often labeled with "No Dumping - Drains to Ocean".

No Dumping

Once the runoff enters the storm drain it travels through pipes until it arrives at the nearest creek or waterway. The runoff is not cleaned along the way and everything it has picked up flows into the creek as well. Look for the storm drains near your house.

The easiest way to keep the creeks and ocean clean is to remove the pollutants from the very beginning!
